SIMPOP

Nick Frère is pleased to welcome the collections and sketches of the SIMPOP global artist collective that brings the vibrancy and expressions of modern artwork to life through an eclectic mix of bold creations. The collection is inspired by an array of cultural influences --- from the smooth notes of a smoky jazz club to the pulsating beats of city nightlife, from the indulgent splash of a colorful canvas to the seemingly simple contrast of the black & white series. We hope you are inspired with this impressive selection of artistic statements.

THE SIMPOP STORY

SimPop was formed in Washington D.C. in the early 90's when a group of college friends started creating paintings and prints for friends and family. These collective works gained popularity within the Washington D.C. area with private collectors and a following was formed. After the friends graduated, the group decided to disband SimPop and seek their individual goals and aspirations. During their time apart, several members found their way to Los Angeles where they began careers in the entertainment industry and in education. The group once again started collaborating and SimPop was reborn.

For the last ten years, SimPop has provided paintings and decorations to Hollywood executives and entertainment taste-makers. Although a majority of these works continue to be bought by private collectors, in 2013, SimPop decided to share the various collections with the general public. In addition, the company has plans to create an apparel line and develop furnishings that reflect the SimPop design attributes.
